Voordat we jullie informeren met al het laatste McFly news, willen we jullie aandacht vragen voor de Amerikaanse SOPA/PIPA plannen. Zoals je misschien gezien hebt zijn wij gisteren, samen met 75000 andere sites, op zwart gegaan om te protesteren tegen de wet waarvoor 24 januari, 2012 voor wordt gestemd.

We horen jullie zeggen: Wat is SOPA en PIPA? En wat heeft dat met mij te maken?" De onderstaande video legt dit allemaal uit. We willen je van harte aanbevelen dit te kijken, omdat de plannen invloed hebben op de hele online wereld.



De Amerikaanse regering heeft al veel sites onterecht afgesloten zonder enig beroep te doen op de eigenaar van de site. Onder de wet wordt het delen van een video met ook maar iets van copyright er in, dus wat sites als YouTube, Tumblr en Twitter doen, beschouwd als illegaal gedrag op basis van dit wetsvoorstel.

Volgens de Congressional Budget Office zou dit wetsvoorstel zo'n 47 miljoen dollar belasting per jaar kosten - dat is voor een oplossing die niet zal werken, die het internet verstoort, een rem op innovatie zet, verschillende stemmen zal uitsluiten en waardoor internet gecensureerd zal worden. Dit wetsvoorstel is slecht voor creativiteit en beschermt je rechten niet.

IS Another British Pop Invasion On The Way?

The pop-rock band (@mcflymusic) has claimed 17 U.K. top 10 singles and six top 20 albums since 2004.

Most recently, the cheeky quartet of guys have expanded their appeal to a wider (and older) audience, thanks to their foray into reality TV competitions. Drummer Harry Judd (@mcflyharry) won the latest edition of "Strictly Come Dancing" (the parent show of America's "Dancing With the Stars") while in December, bassist Dougie Poynter (@dougiemcfly) was crowned champion of the famous-people-stuck-in-a-jungle show "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!"

Laat het nou zo zijn dat de auteur van dit artikel, Keith Caulfield uit Los Angeles, assosciate director of charts is van Billboard. Hij tweette eerder naar Tom: "Just throwing this out there... Come to L.A. and @Billboard will fling open its doors to you and the boys". Dit werd later bevestigd door de Billboard Twitter account: "Make it happen! ;) RT @billboard @tommcfly @keith_caulfield spreaks the truth - we'd love to have you stop by for a visit @mcflymusic". Zou het mogelijk zijn, McFly op een billboard in Los Angeles? HEt zou zomaar kunnen, zeg nooit nooit! Wordt vervolgd.

Ander nieuws dan... Iemand heeft de USTREAM geupload waar we naar op zoek waren. Beetje jammer dat deze persoon ook Super City content op haar YouTube account heeft staan. Hoe dan ook, het is alleen een klein gedeelte van de hele stream. Maar het is in ieder geval beter als niets toch?! ;)

I think I have another year, hopefully, to convince Ryan to let me do a McFly song. But the problem is that I have no idea which song. It was the same with the whole Michael Jackson thing. They knew that I really wanted to do Michael, but I could not pick a Michael song, so they kind of did it for me. But they knew Michael Jackson. They don't really know McFly, so I'm really going to have to go in and kind of sell it. There needs to be an entire presentation.

I think "All About You" would be a great fit for Artie, especially if he's trying to serenade a girl. That would be a nice one, right?

Yeah, "All About You" would be incredible. I know Darren [Criss] and I talked about doing "All About You." We both love McFly.

"Glee" returns from its winter hiatus on Tues., Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.

Ander leuk nieuws. We zullen misschien de nieuwe demo's tijdens de Up Close and Personal tour te horen krijgen. Volgens meeste vrienden van McFly zijn de nieuwe liedjes erg goed. Fletch "shat his pants" van enthousiasme (volgens Danny) en David Spearing was totaal "blown away" toen hij naar ze luisterde. Kom maar op met die nieuwe tour!
