McFly Introduce Their Autobiography
Super City

Who better to introduce you all to Unsaid Things: Our Story, than the boys themselves?

If you thought you knew McFly... Think again!

Unsaid Things: Our Story Book Signing
Super City

McFly are without doubt one of Britain's best-loved bands. Meet Tom, Danny, Harry and Dougie as they sign copies of the eagerly awaited Unsaid Things: Our Story.

The band will be appearing at Waterstones Piccadilly on publication day (11th October) at 5:30pm.

Access to the queue will be first come first served so please arrive early to avoid disappointment as the event will not be ticketed in advance. McFly will sign copies of the autobiography only, no merchandise or memorabillia and due to time constraints there will be no posed customer photography.

If you can't get to London though- don't panic! Further dates to be announced soon.

Find the official event on Waterstones' site here.

McFly finally make a buzz in the States
The Sun

We catch up with the Brit band as they try to crack America.

SITTING in a hot, sweaty Los Angeles dressing room above one of the world’s most famous rock and roll venues, a British band show off their newly inked tattoos as they prepare for their first gig in the US.

We’re in The Roxy – the Sunset Strip venue that has hosted guitar bands from The Ramones to The Clash – and wearing sleeveless vests showing off their extensive body art, McFly fit right in.

After a decade topping the UK charts, the four-piece are finally making a bid to crack the States.

The early signs are very good. Two nights at The Roxy, then two more at the famous Gramercy Theatre in New York this month all sold out in under a minute.

When we met five hours before their first show in LA, there was already a queue around the block of US fans – excited they finally have a chance to see the band in the flesh. Guitarist Tom Fletcher, the blonde one, explained: “It’s our first ever proper, headlining gig in America – it’s taken us nine years.

“It’s been frustrating. We’ve wanted to come from day one but we’ve never had a record deal here so have concentrated on the UK.

“But this year we said enough is enough and we had to go to America. If we don’t do it now we’ll be 50 years old.”

And drummer Harry Judd, the one who won Strictly Come Dancing, added: “It’s good fun for us. “The worst case scenario is we get to play some shows.”

And the best case scenario? Guitarist Danny Jones, northern one, replied: “A residency at Madison Square Garden every month!” The 26-year-old added: “It would be cool to get in the charts over here. We’ve still got lots of goals we would like to achieve.”

Reviewed: McFly in NYC
Marie from McFly Canada

What do you have in mind and what do you expect when you're going to see the band McFly for the first time ever, after being a fan for about 6 years and hearing almost only positive things about their live performances? You have really high hopes and expectations! And I was really glad to see they didn't disappoint me at all! Even though I was 100% sure they wouldn't, don't get me wrong!

So I was lucky enough to go to both shows in New York City, on September 13th and 14th 2012. Since I was going twice, I decided to enjoy one show just sitting down and watch the boys do what they do best and then at the next one, I went right to the front to live the McFly experience at its fullest! I regret nothing!

The vibes inside The Gramercy Theatre were just incredible and indescribable. For most of the people there, it was their first McFly concert and they just couldn't wait for them to get on stage. Everybody was just waiting for the lights to go out. And once they did, it began- it was finally time! YMCA started playing, the entire crowd was singing and dancing and I think for most of the people there, it seemed that song was never ending!

Then, as we started hearing sirens, the crowd went even more insane and screamed even louder 'til the boys finally hit the stage to start rocking out with Nowhere Left To Run. They made every single person in the audience go crazy and jump on their feet! That was it, it was finally time. McFly were finally hitting the stage for the first time ever in New York City. People were screaming so loud, we couldn't even hear the music coming from the stage! That is definitely a moment to remember in McFly history.

They kept going with classics such as One For The Radio, Star Girl, Shine A Light and Lies. All great songs to make you have an awesome, good time, with slightly different bits added to them to make the songs appear new. After that, it was time to carry on with 2 new songs. The first one called Red, a song they played on their UK Tour back in March and April, so lots of people already knew about it and could sing along. The second one was a completely new song that has been written about a month ago, which they kept exclusive for the US crowds, for them to hear it first. It’s called Love Is Easy and it involves a Ukulele, shakers and a nice beat with a reggae feel to it. The song has also really great vocal-parts.

They then broke it down just a bit for a few acoustic songs, classics again, with everyone singing along to Obviously and All About You, that was unbelievable. The show kept going on and the boys kept rocking out for almost 2 hours. The most amazing thing happened right before the encore. As the guys left the stage, the crowd then started to sing Transylvania in unison, it sounded really beautiful.

Danny came back on his own with his acoustic guitar to sing us a beautiful awesome version of his song Not Alone. When the rest of the boys came back to join him they said, “Thank you so much guys, that was the first time EVER a crowd sang a whole song to us and it sounded amazing!”. Dougie added, “We're going to attempt something we didn't rehearse!” and started playing Transylvania. They played it to us simply because we sang it to them. They stopped after the first chorus to keep going with Twist & Shout and then, to finish off, The Heart Never Lies.

On the 14th, I had a total different experience since I was stood 2nd row and I have no words to describe how amazing that was! They went through the whole same set, except for one song! Right before the encore, we all sang Falling In Love in unison, so when Danny came back with his acoustic guitar, he simply told he heard us singing, then he tuned his guitar and he started playing the song and made us sing along. I will never forget this moment; it brought tears to my eyes. It was just such an emotional moment to share with him. At the end of the show, it took them a little while to exit the stage. Tom just seemed to hold back his tears, it looked like it was such an emotional moment for him.

With those two shows and the two in Los Angeles that were complete success, I think it's the proof that McFly definitely can make it here in North America. And they will! They promised they would come back and that it wouldn't take another 9 years!

Ander nieuws dan. McFly's nieuwe single Love Is Easy zal (binnenkort) op televisie komen. Tom zei op Twitter: 'On our way to film the first tv performance of Love Is Easy. It’s a prerecord so it won’t be on tonight. Soz.'
